Warm-up exercice
Please place your smartphone on the table, screen facing up, with all notifications turned off. When I tap your screen and your background image lights up, introduce yourself using that image as the common thread of your presentation. If the image is too private or sensitive, feel free to invent an alternative truth.

Introduction and theory input
What distinguishes a personal image from a generic or generated one? That is what we will try to find out in this workshop. Please sit back and make yourself comfortable. For the next hour, I will talk about where the idea for this workshop came from, introduce a few key theoretical concepts that will guide us, and walk you through the steps we will take together.

Collecting images
This afternoon, we will search the web for as many images as possible that are similar to your background image. Use the links below to start collecting, and feel free to draw on any other resources. The only rule at this stage: no AI, please.
